Palisades Tahoe located in California’s Sierra Nevada, has 6,000 acres of skiable terrain across two interconnected mountains—Palisades and Alpine. With an average annual snowfall of 402 inches and extensive snowmaking capabilities, the resort maintains excellent conditions. The mountain features 270 marked trails served by 36 lifts, including gondolas, trams, and high-speed chairs. Trail difficulty is well balanced, with terrain for beginners, intermediates, and experts alike.
Palisades Tahoe’s terrain is spread across two mountains, connected by the Base to Base Gondola. Palisades is home to iconic expert zones like KT-22, Headwall, and Silverado, while Alpine offers a mix of bowls, groomed cruisers, and tree-lined descents. The resort’s vertical drop of 2,850 ft and summit elevation of 9,050 ft provide ample variety across 97.5 miles of skiable terrain. Skiers can explore everything from mellow slopes to technical steeps.
We will be staying at the PlumpJack Inn Lodge (https://www.plumpjackinn.com/). Located by the base of the Aerial Tram, makes this an ideal location for a fabulous ski week. The PlumpJack Inn is designed with a high-class, contemporary flair that still connects with the mountains. Modern, spacious and inviting, PlumpJacks (as it is known by locals) is located next door to the Palisades Tahoe Cable Car and only a few minutes' walk to the ski area's famous KT-22 ski lift and the Funitel taking you to the upper mountain. This proximity makes access to all of the local activities simple. Another bonus of PlumpJacks is their fine-dining restaurant. The PlumpJack Cafe and Bar is one of the best options in the valley for tasty California cuisine and an award-winning wine list. The bar is also a happening hot spot for après-ski.
